With a new album months away at the least, the Backstreet Boys usher in spring 2001 with a set of six-cut EPs, For the Fans. Good news: The price is much lower than what U.S. fans usually pay for foreign releases of this type of in-concert stuff. The bad news is that each disc features three of the same tracks--the thoughtful, previously import-only "That's What She Said"; Black and Blue's so-so "It's True"; and an a cappella version of "All I Have to Give" (billed as the recording's first appearance). The onstage tracks feature vocals prominently high in the mix, presumably to show off the Boys' skills and, perhaps, to override any live-or-Memorex questions. On this CD, those songs are "Larger Than Life," "Back to Your Heart," and "All I Have to Give."
